How We Print
Sustainable Printing Business Is Savvy Business
A commitment to sustainability is at the core of our business. And although trees are a renewable resource, a stewardship approach is necessary to preserve and protect forest lands for future generations.
Hudson Printing makes available many options for use of Forest Stewardship Council ® (FSC®) certified paper. This means you can have a positive environmental impact AND extremely high-quality print. Ask about available FSC papers for your next project.
The links on the right side of this page lead to more detail on the sustainability practices of key Hudson Printing partners.
Beyond sustainable forestry and responsibly sourced papers, we believe that sustainable print is ALSO about not printing things that don’t create value. About not printing things that will end up stashed in a warehouse for a year or two, only to be eventually thrown away.
Hudson Printing can help you with strategic planning and innovative alternatives to make your print both more valuable and highly sustainable.

Offset Printing
Heatset Web Offset Printing
Offset lithography has been around since the 19th century but that doesn’t mean we still use the same technology. Offset lithography has come a long ways since then.
One of the important functions in the printing process is prepress production. This stage makes sure that all files are correctly processed in preparation for printing. This includes converting to the proper CMYK color model, finalizing the files, and creating plates for each color of the job to be run on the press.
Offset lithography is one of the most common ways of creating printed materials. A few of its common applications include: newspapers, magazines, brochures, stationery, and books. Compared to other printing methods, offset printing is best suited for economically producing large volumes of high quality prints in a manner that requires little maintenance.
- consistent high image quality;
- quick and easy production of printing plates;
- cost savings – Offset printing is the cheapest method for producing high quality prints in commercial printing quantities;
- and the ability to adjust the color and quality.
Digital Printing
A Passion For Print
Reinvent Print! We know it sounds a little crazy to reinvent a 500-year-old media, and perhaps it is. However, we think that a big change is long overdue.
In an increasingly digital and connected world, it’s easy to see print as old school – simply ink on paper. Reinvent Print means exploring the intersection of Print and Digital Media to discover and exploit the connections that can make the combination dramatically more valuable than either alone. It also means leveraging the beautiful, tactile, enduring qualities of print and blending them with the best features of the digital world.
It also means forging deeper, stronger relationship with our customers. When you engage with Hudson Printing, you’ll find us thinking deeply about your business – about your challenges and opportunities – and how we can help with Print! When you run into a tough challenge or a big opportunity, we’ll be up in the night wrestling with it too.
Because Hudson Printing brings a vast selection of capabilities and solutions to bear against the obstacles that stand between you and your objectives, we can help you achieve them faster.
Hudson Printing is the partner to help you Reinvent Print to create remarkable value in your world!
HP Indigo Digital Printing
HP Indigo sets the worldwide standard in digital print quality, with results that are virtually indistinguishable from high-end offset printing. We support non-digital, and non-Indigo shops with digital printing that exceeds the quality of copier-type digital printing devices. And we occasionally help other Indigo shops by providing overflow capacity. And with 24 / 7/ 363 operations, chances are we can meet your deadline. Even if your deadline is Today!
The New Thing!
Landa S10P Nanographic Printing Press
With that in mind, Hudson Printing invested in a Landa S10P Nanographic Printing Press. It arrived in November 2021. It’s the 7th of its kind in the world.
This addition allows us to deliver offset speeds and options with digital ease. Imagine variable data and imaging on any paper without pretreating. Now, imagine offset speeds and sheet sizes. There are Endless Possibilities.
There’s more. The New New Thing reconciles color differently. We call it Chroma-XG. There are more layers of shade, brighter reflections, a larger gamut and, when preferred, more subtle color transitions. It’s “Color Reimagined.”
Additions like this one (diversifying our printing platforms) reminds us to focus on why we print over how we print. Technology matters but only if it solves client objectives. Hudson Printing assumes the responsibility of staying abreast of the world’s greatest technologies for the benefit they offer to our client messages.
